Latino Community Center - Youth Development Programs - Community Learning Center The Youth Development after school program provides a safe place and positive activities for over 3,000 Latino youth between the ages of 5 and 21. Sojourner Truth House, Inc. - Batterers Anonymous - Beyond Abuse Program Abuser intervention and education program geared toward stopping and preventing revictimization. United Cerebral Palsy of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc. - Employment Services The UCP Employment Services Program creates individualized job opportunities and placement services in partnership with Milwaukee area businesses for persons with significant disabilities. Alverno College - Minority Educations Scholarships The Harley-Davidson Minority Teacher Education Scholarship provides tuition scholarships to women of color who are enrolled in Alverno College's education program. Creative Sharp - SHARP Literacy Program at West Side Academy SHARP Literacy assists and enhances the efforts of public and private elementary schools in the Greater Milwaukee area by exposing students to the visual arts in order to stimulate a fuller understanding of history, sciences, language arts and mathematics. Marquette University - Family Literacy Program The Family Literacy Project is a program in which forty-five undergraduate teachers in training learn and practice techniques to help under achieving children improve their literacy skills. Milwaukee Public Museum - Science Explorations After School Program This Science Explorations After School Program engages 120 girls from four inner city middle schools in intensive course work in the scientific fields of Biology, Geology, Ecology and Genetics. Milwaukee Public Television Friends - Reading Rainbow & Young Writers Illustrators Workshops The PBS program Reading Rainbow teaches four to eight year old children to adopt positive reading habits, skills and attitudes. The Young Writers Illustrators Workshops is a program that promotes students to write and illustrate their own stories. Columbia College of Nursing, Inc. - El Centro de Salud: Dental Program The El Centro de Salud Dental Program provides preventive and restorative dental care to families served by Milwaukee’s United Community Center. Dentists and hygienists are provided by the Columbia College of Nursing.
